It must be with great pleasure that you get another post on my not-so-fancy routine, morning & night included (read: pretty much the same) of course, specifically an end-of-winter skincare routine.
Since the first post I made – find it here – last year, a lot has changed, and also I got to learn a lot. First of all, I finally managed to understand (sort of, yeah) my skin and what could make it ‘troubled’, which, to be fair, it’s a big thing for someone who does not even understand her own mind, let alone her skin. Secondly, I think I finally put a stop to the buy-it-all madness, firstly because there is no more space to store, and secondly because there is literally no more space.
In light of the no-buy rule – also known as #shopmystash, hello @esteelaundry! – I have been required to start using what I have around me, so I can buy more once my collection is reduced. Below – how professional! – is what I am currently using for my end-of-winter skincare routine.
I have struggled with the Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser, while I initially enjoyed the no-foam formulation, I have ended up hating it completely and end up setting it aside shortly after my first blog post about it. No matter the times I have tried it, it just left my face feeling even more oily-er than when not cleaned. After running out of my Bioré Charcoal Cleanser, I have opted for the Daily Concepts Multi Functional Soap Sponge in Charcoal, which is literally described as a 2-in-1 soap & sponge hybrid. This has managed to left my skin feel squeaky clean, refreshed, and has helped it clear out in a substantial way from both acne and scars!
So you have seen this via another post due to it being a Christmas present from Cristina, and while I am almost at the end of the bottle – which does say a lot about it already – I would definitely repurchase as soon as I scale down my previously mentioned collection. It has been such a cooling toner, my skin has loved it from start to end. I have been looking forward to it both day & night, it’s incredible to me as well.
As for the serum I am currently using, I have a sample size of this from I believe what was the Birchbox advent calendar from 2018? It is apparently rejuvenating, protective and reparative all in one, and it gets absorbed super quickly. It can be followed by moisturiser, but you can also use it as a base for make up – because who does even have time for priming?!
- EYE CREAM
For the mornings when I actually remember to look after my eyes, I tend to use this one as it’s pretty nice to pat all around the eyes and makes them finally open up – sort of LOL.
I bought this over Christmas in Italy as part of a set, and so far so good – also lasts quite a long time?! It’s also free from parabens and artificial nasties, so overall a good one for me.
This one has been a favourite of mine, not only because it smells super nice, but also because a little goes a looooong way – plus it’s pink and the bottle itself it’s so cute, I mean, win win!
I bought this in the USA when we went to New York last year and to my delight, I will be able to repurchase on Cult Beauty! Awweeeeee! It has more of a gel-like consistency, and it just applies easily, plus it’s great to soothe irritated and inflamed skin, which in my case is great.
What is your day-to-day routine like at the moment? Are you starting to switch some bits around already or is it still too cold to do so?
