I love Fall. Call me basic, call me whatever names you want to call me, I will probably fit into all the categories anyways. But I love Fall.
I must admit I only loved one season, as I was growing up, and that was most definitely summer: the sun, the long days, the hot weather, the frilly dresses, and then the seaside, the ice cream, just loved it all.
And I think I did not realize how bad loving only one season was until a few years ago, while walking home between the fallen leaves, with those colors and smells in the air no other season could give me. And then my love for winter – and spring eventually – started, but that is a story for a different time.
There are at least 10 things I (we) love about Fall, and thanks to Fred’s magic drawing powers – here they go.

FALL LOVE #1 – Pies
Whether it’s a sweet one, a savory one – or even a combination of having both one after the other! – I have very strong feelings about pies. They are such a great way to serve pretty much anything in them, plus Pumpkin Pie must be my absolute favorite. Oh, the spices, and the crust, and the sweet filling…lush.
FALL LOVE #2 – Falling Leaves
These must be some sort of comforting feeling with seeing all the leaves falling down, some kind of relaxing thought or else because I love watching outside my window, a cup of tea on hand, to see all these beautiful leaves just land graciously to the floor. Such a romantic thought ha!
FALL LOVE #3 – Changing Colours
Don’t get me started on the colors, I could be here for days: the shades of yellow, and orange, and red, on trees and on the grass… you would think this is a work of art. Because it absolutely is!
FALL LOVE #4 – Staying in Bed
This is most definitely a year-round passion of mine – everyone here could confirm – but can you find me anything more satisfying than staying in bed on a cold autumn day, when outside it’s raining? Yeah, I didn’t think you could.
FALL LOVE #5 – All the Hot Drinks
Coffee, my main squeeze, it’s always number one in my heart. But then comes fall and I am allowed only one Pumpkin Spice Latte – exclusively from Starbucks, of course, no other non-sense here – and it is just the best way to start or end the season. But of course, there is nothing stopping me from drinking tea, hot chocolates, and a spiced apple juice we love to make. Stay tuned for a how-to on Instagram soon!
FALL LOVE #6 – Fuzzy Socks
Usually, Cristina is the queen of socks, because she can not only style them like the fab girl she is, but she also has a very great collection on hand. The fuzzy sock passion must have been pushed on to us by our mother who would buy them in pretty much any colour you can think of. To this day, mother is still our #1 dealer of fuzzy socks.
FALL LOVE #7 – Books for Days
I have been in a reading slump since possibly…2016?! Not even trying to make it a joke, I just can’t focus on books for some reason but I definitely want to try and read more – and possibly social media-ing less? I have yet to find something that captures me, so maybe I will try some old stuff I used to love and read over and over again, just to reignite the flame.
FALL LOVE #8 – Pumpkins Everywhere
If you were to walk into the room Fred and I share right now, you’d have to jump round them and then maybe sit on one: we have lost our marbles and covered the room in pumpkins and gourds. Which we plan on eating at some point, but for now: fall decorations!
FALL LOVE #9 – Watching Movies
Yes, I know you know it, my attention span is not as good as it could be so spare me the whole deal. But with the colder temperatures I might even try and watch more movies…I swear! I think between Disney + and Netflix I should be okay. Leave your recommendations in the comments, thank you.
FALL LOVE #10 – Walking into Puddles and Wearing my Favourite Boots
I am a big baby, and I love jumping in puddles. While I hope for my neck and butt to come out of any jump alive, I combine the fear of breaking something with the fear of ruining my favourite boots around, the ones that took me only two years to break into. Will I survive? Will I break my neck? Only time will tell. Stay tuned.
What are your favourite things about fall? Did I mention them all?
