One of my sisters – the middle one, FYI – has recently changed jobs and she has been working with the guys at Origin Coffee Roasters for the past couple of months.
She is a barista trainer and has been sending me daily pictures of both the breakfast dishes and lunch dishes she gets to try there. Two months of mouth-watering pictures, which have been responded to with a very simple middle finger emoji. I am a bit of a very expressive lady like that.
So when we got a text from a good friend of ours we haven’t seen in ages who wanted to go for a nice and quick bite over coffee and chats at the weekend, middle sister proposed it in light of her raving about the food. And it did not disappoint. Here’s the sneak peek into Brunch at Origin Coffee Roasters.

The coffee, of course, was absolutely on point: the guys here are working using only the finest equipment – 4 modbars, if that tells you anything, which is a non-invasive piece of coffee equipment that allows you to see the whole process of coffee making, from shot to milk and any latte art you might be getting by the very talented baristas – paired with the best ingredients in the beans and milk department. I am not a coffee geek per se, but I know how I like my coffee, and the two I had here would be a five star each.
The food, you ask? The food was just so great. I have of course opted for a veeeery sweet breakfast, but I am also telling myself it was not so bad after all: a slice of brioche with roasted plums, vanilla ricotta, hazelnut butter, shaved almonds and chopped pistachios. Technically, a healthy choice, if you ask me.
Of course, all the food was eaten fast, while chatting and catching up, and drinking a whole load of coffee. What more could you want?
We have decided to see each other at least once a month, to try a different place every time. I like plans like this.
One of the most delicious places, make sure you add Brunch at Origin Coffee Roasters to your to-do list in London.
Another brunch we did recently? The one at Caravan Coffee in Kings Cross, read about it here.
