It’s been more than a year since I started using custom hair care from Function of Beauty, and thanks to a good friend of mine I realized I have actually never shared my opinions on it!
Admittedly, after being subscribed for this long (Feb 2019, mind blown), you know the answer already: I am fully sold.
Not only I love that I can pick what goes in my bottle from the scent (the choices are just too good, plus the seasonals are insane!) to the actual color, but I get to pick the areas I want to work on or goals for my hair as they put it.
Before?
I have very thin and straight hair, pretty much a pain in the rear most days: they get oily quite easily, and there is no day that I don’t have to wash them. Prior to starting with custom hair care, I would have definitely needed to do a daily wash, no matter the circumstances.

Now.
Now, you ask? Definitely an improvement, if you ask me. I can go on day two with a no-wash and a half-do, rather than my usual bun. I can also manage to have a very good day two when my hair is fully down, which has never ever happened before.
And well, while I still tend to wash them daily, I have also managed to become best friends with DRY SHAMPOO. I have never had a good experience with it, maybe I was just incapable to use it, maybe I was too lazy. But now I am just so so grateful for its existence, I will never look back.
Overall.
Yes, it’s a big fat yes from me. I would definitely recommend the Function of Beauty stuff to everyone because it’s of great quality, fun to organise and also their customer service it’s just perfect.
While I am yet to try the other bits, I have tried the shampoo and conditioner and they are absolutely worth the hype: I get a big bottle of shampoo delivered every 4 months, and I have tried the conditioner in small format at the very beginning, but I never put conditioner on my hair so that’s now stopped.
It is priced decently, I only spend an average of Β£7.25 a month now, compared to a lot of more expensive choices you can find in the market at the moment. You can add to your bill easily, but all things considered, I believe this to be a good saving for me and my wallet, but also the environment – don’t forget all the good things about this company: cruelty-free, vegan, free of sulfates and sustainable too.
If you would like to try it with a cheeky 25% off your first order, simply place it using this link right here. While it is not a sponsored/affiliate link, I still get a cheeky discount too, so we are all happy peeps all around!

How have I not heard of this!? I recently discovered Kevin Murphy products and Iβm in love with those. They have something for everyone too. I have naturally curly hair (hate it!) but the smoothing straightener spray helps and I can go up to 6 days (with the help of dry shampoo) without washing my hair. Hah that sounds gross. But now Iβll have to check these out, thank you for sharing.
Oh, Leslie – hair care is such a pain! When you find the right product (and perfect dry shampoo!) it’s like winning the lottery ahah
I shall check the Kevin Murphy out too x
