Incredible, but true – a hint of sarcasm there, of course – I have signed up for yet another subscription service, but to be fair there is also a hint of surprise there, because it’s nothing to do with skincare, or Netflix.
Oh, no, readers. It’s all about hair. And if you know me, you know I ain’t willing to spend more than a few bucks on shampoo, because by the end of the day my hair will be oily no matter what I do.
Yes, I had given up on the chance of ever being able to not having to wash my hair every single bloody day.
Alas, I also am an avid user of Facebook. And a reader of Buzzfeed. And there was no chance I would miss on seeing ads about creating your own shampoo and conditioner, but always decided on not doing anything about it because, again, I do not spend money on that. Usually, apparently.
THE DEAL
So, after finding a discount code off a friend – forever thankful to Rose! – here I am now, the proud (hopefully) owner of a baby blue set of shampoo and conditioner from Function of Beauty. I bought it here.
Of course, I am quite unsure now whether or not I have subscribed to this, as I can’t seem to find it on the account – but that might just be me?! – as I was trying to look at changing the colour/scent to try out something different. I have not even started using them, but I already want to try a different colour and possibly a different scent. Go figure.
Rose has actually confirmed I will be able to change it all, and after a quick research, I can confirm it can be different every. Single. Time. YAY!!

As far as I heard, people end up loving this. And given its price tag, I do really hope I don’t, but at the same time, I do hope it works because I can’t deal with my hair anymore.
I am trying to get my hair to grow, but I am not sure I can deal with the daily washes before I go to work.
To list a few of the good things about Function of Beauty:
- Vegan & Cruelty-Free – we as a family & household are trying to reduce the chemicals in the house, also very much into the cruelty-free stuff so we are trying to switch all we have, including shampoo;
- Paraben & Sulfate Free;
- FDA Approved Dyes, that won’t change your colored hair;
- The bottles are made of 100% recyclable, PETE-grade plastic
I will eventually get back to you all on how this is working on my hair, whether or not I see any difference to the one I am currently using – find it here, from L’Oreal Series Expert – and hope for the best?!

EDIT – having just started using this for a week now, not every day, I CAN CONFIRM THE HYPE ON THIS!!!
But more on it when I have used it for a bit longer…
