This will be a different post, ever so slightly. Mainly because it’s an ode to all my handbags – love you all, girls – also because it’s all about the shit I leave constantly in them, and never end up retrieving.
The title to this post might have given it away already: I am a bloody mess. A handbag becomes just an extra space for me to mess up my life even more, so I have plenty of those because I am literally addicted to them.
But what has been living in my handbag lately, you ask?
Considering I am now leaving the house even less than I used to – that is if you are not counting work trips from before redundancy – for pleasure, I only use my Lulu Guinness babe from this post here as much as I can and ignore all the others.
And with a second lockdown now officially underway, these handbags will be gathering even more dust – but that’s a story for a different day.

Lulu Guinness Red Crosshatched Leather Small Clara in Red, here.
I think since getting this handbag, I have never looked back – it is just the perfect size for me, and I absolutely love the colour and shape of it.
Nursem Caring Hand Cream, here.
I am not a fan of hand creams because they end up being sticky – and there is nothing I hate more than sticky hands. But this one right here is absolutely great, vegan & cruelty-free, plus does good too: every product you buy, Nursem will donate a month’s worth of free products to a nurse or midwife.
Aerie Dream On Sunnies, here.
Not the same ones as the ones I have were purchased a couple of years ago in New York, but pretty similar and in a few colours to pick from – the clear ones, even if not sunglasses, are just great. These are the pair I reach out for every single day.
Glossier Balm Dotcom in birthday, here.
As per with hand cream, lip balm is my second-worst enemy: I hate the feeling on lips, and barely got used to lipstick on all day, let alone something that has no colour or anything. This one has an amazing fragrance to it, it’s hard not to eat my own lips: a winner.

Wallet.
Just a little thingy I got in Macy’s – possibly their tourist-y department, don’t get me wrong – and I cannot find anywhere, so there goes that. I have a big girl one but it doesn’t fit in most handbags. Might be time to take it out again?
ThisWorks Stress Check Clean Hands Antibacterial Gel, here.
More of a fancy one, you might think, but it actually has a nicer smell than most sanitisers and it still ticks all the boxes – including being vegan and non-drying.
CheekyPanda 100% Bamboo Pocket Tissue, here.
Tissues, yes, but make it sustainable: 100% bamboo fibre, they are free from fragrance, chlorine bleach, de-inking chemicals and B.P.A. Plus the panda does indeed look cute, right!?
Face Mask, not pictured.
I cannot believe I completely forgot to include THE accessory of the year, alas the pictures were taken and I didn’t want to try again. But my face masks are all hand-made with love by Fred, who’s been sewing every single one we own since the beginning of this.
Do you ever carry the same bits in your bag? If so, what are they?
I enjoyed this post – I hate to think what I’d find in my bag, it hasn’t been out the house since March 2020!
Thank you Katy – I am sure I can find terrible stuff in my other bags too! x
Your sunglasses are so cute!

I absolutely adore them – they are pretty much falling apart (so cheap) but not only they remind me of a lovely trip to NY, they also are my favourite ever (even more than actual designer ones!) x
You have great taste! The bag is a beauty. Plus I love how much you choose that is sustainable and eco-friendly. Great post! PS I am in introvert who loves Animal Crossing too ?
Thank you so much Sarah – need to add you as a friend on AC!
