If you asked my not-so-older self a few years ago what my autumn makeup picks for this season would be, she would have most likely laughed in your face.
As if makeup was my thing. The LOLs.
Fast forward to 2018, and subsequently to today…and makeup is my new obsession. Not as much because I paint my face (mostly) daily at best, but even more so because I love buying stuff. Any stuff, lately makeup and skincare having taken #1 spot on my list.
And why would I need makeup, you ask, when I barely leave the house now that I am out of work unless I am going to get groceries or meeting a friend or two on the occasional day out?
Well, let me tell you that: I love autumn. So any excuse to get autumn stuff is my kind of deal. We have filled the bedroom with pumpkins, so why not fill it with makeup too?!
But back to my autumn makeup picks.

To start with, my Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in G11 for the base. This lightweight and breathable formula helps even out your skin for a smooth, dewy finish. It is indeed very light, not sure if you could build it up much but my skin seems to like the idea of the non-makeup going on, so we stick to it.
I follow with my Glossier Stretch Concealer in G10 (not pictured) and I must admit that I initially didn’t enjoy this much. I am now completely sold. It covers, well. And stays put, which is never the case with the others I have tried so TAKE ALL MY MONEY. NOW. ALL.
Moving to my eyes, I have purchased my first ever Huda Beauty palette and I am utterly in love, the colors are so great, but let’s go with order. The one I own is Huda Beauty Topaz Obsession Eyeshadow Palette and the pigment in the colors are just perfect, they stay in place all day and there are both matte shades and shimmery ones.
Eyebrows are a fun game, if I am not in a rush though I like to pencil them first with my Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in shade 4, then follow up with my one and only trusty friend, Glossier Boy Brow in black: puts them brow hair back in their place, and that is where they will stay all day, lush.
Mascara has been that one thing I could not seem to find that worked the way I wanted until I entered my local MAC shop and the lovely lady handed me the MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash. I can confirm I have never turned back. I don’t leave the house without it, it is just perfect and lasts so long, it’s quite insane.
Last, but not least, is cheeks and lips.
Given the current circumstances, I have put away all my fancy lipsticks and most days will go for a simple balm, otherwise both cheeks and lips get treated to my NOTO botanics Multi Benne Stain in Ono Ono.
This is just a wonderful product all around, and the brand itself it’s such a great one, everyone should look into their products not only because they are vegan, cruelty-free, and multi-purpose, they are also inclusive and unisex.
What are your autumn staples in the makeup department?
I spoke about my current skincare routine here, if you fancy a read.
My makeup is the same for all seasons I think haha! foundation, blush, light eye shadow, eyeliner, lashes and mascara! I really love the eyeshadow palette! I would love this if I was doing Thanksgiving glam π
I try to use some different bits and bobs with the seasons, more to get my skin to breathe properly where possible – not that I have used much make up anymore haha! The palette is beautiful indeed xx
