My skin has completely changed since lockdown started, and so I had to re-adjust my routine as well, switching my must-have beauty products during lockdown to these holy grails of beauty.
You might have seen from my previous posts under the Beauty Category that my skin has always been so, so oily. Not only on the T zone, but overall on cheeks, forehead, chin…you name it.
All of a sudden, whether I liked it or not, my skin turned into this dry, flaky, but still very much red and scarred. I could not believe it. It pulled, so much at times it just hurt, and no way I could simply moisturise, oh no. It needed more, and I tried some oils to help, but I also switched moisturiser.
The two must-haves products are very different in price, yet very effective and surprisingly widely available, while my face wash is unavailable in the UK – it sucks, I know.

YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE – Kale + Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser
Find it here, delivered from Italy.

So, this travel-size bottle was from maybe a year ago, when I bought it at Sephora back home in Italy. It does not come cheap, but it was oh so great for my thirsty skin. A pea-size drop works wonders, it lathers and leaves my face feeling refreshed and plumped.

DR JART + – Cicapair Tiger Grass Re.Pair Serum
Find it here on Amazon, or here on Beauty Bay
I have been using this one since maybe week 2 of lockdown, and I so wish I had taken a before picture: my otherwise scarred cheeks – from all the cystic acne I have been suffering with since teenage years – are looking definitely better than they have ever done.
This serum has just been such a miracle product for me, I will definitely be re-purchasing. I use it every morning, after my face wash, and it’s not sticky, it dries super fast and gets absorbed as quickly as you can say ‘this is the bomb!’.
THE ORDINARY – Natural Moisturising Factors + HA
Find it here on Amazon, or here on Beauty Bay
This is not going to break the bank for sure, and it is also pretty amazing: vegan, cruelty free and packed with all the good things my face really needs daily.
It leaves my face feeling nice and plump, not greasy and shiny. It’s just too good. I have just started using it at night as well, and we shall see if it gets any better than it already is.
Has your skin changed during lockdown? And since I shared with you my must-have beauty products – what are the products you have been using to help with the whole situation? Did you love them? Let me know in the comments!
