The Best No-Bake Cookie Truffles
Well, well, well. Guess who is here? A whole crowd of people (aka our household) trying to eat all the Christmas no-bake cookie truffles! And could I really blame them all? These were just so quick to whip up, pack a punch and are adorable to decorate with your kids when the Christmas season comes.
But let’s not get too much ahead of ourselves. After all, these no-bake Christmas truffles do deserve a little introduction. If anything, a few words need to be spent on them. Why? Well, first of all, because they are not strictly Christmas truffles. You can have them all year round as long as you tweak the sprinkles, am I right? And secondly, because of how honestly addictive these were. But also incredibly simple to make, almost a pleasure to put together. And if you are looking at gifting something homemade this Christmas, then look no further: these have plenty of potentials and can also be tailored to a lot of dietary requirements. I will explain how soon, in the meantime, just keep reading.
When I was researching content for this Christmas, two recipes kept coming up: fudge, which we have made already, and these quick, no-bake truffles. Of course, if you tell me these are extremely important to have in my repertoire, then I will listen. And thank God I did! If you plan on serving some very cute individual, buffet-style dessert this Christmas or New Year, then look no further.
But also, careful about where you leave them. Or who you leave them with.
They become highly addictive and I am sure I had three or four in one sitting without thinking or even realising. How, you might ask? Well…I am the kind of person who can eat sugar to no end, in one sitting. So I really wouldn’t call me surprised here. But let’s go on and discuss the ins and outs of these no-bake Christmas cookie truffles once and for all.

What are Christmas no-bake cookie truffles?
The title says it all to be completely fair, it’s a no brainer. These truffles are no-bake as you will not be baking the cookies you shall make them with. Or you might, if you like, but that is really up to you. In this case, and in general, a no-bake truffle is made of crumbled cookies or cake, mixed with either cream cheese or cake frosting. The result is a mix which you will be able to work in your hands in the shape you might most desire. After chilling them, you can cover them in chocolate and sprinkles, and there is honestly nothing tastier than those!
The difference between cake batter truffles and say an Oreo truffle, it’s all in the main ingredients. You can use a sponge for the cake ones, and generally these are called cake pops if you pop them on a stick. The cookie ones are a lot more versatile and enjoyable in my opinion, and that is down to the immense possibilities you have when it comes to cookies. From Oreos – which by the way can be chocolate or golden or a million other flavours! – to any kind of dry cookie you can think of, you can see the options are endles. But what did we use for our no-bake Christmas cookie truffles?
What ingredients do you need for the no-bake Christmas cookie truffles?
First of all, the cookies. We have gone for some malted milk biscuits, which are dry and go perfect with a cup of tea. They are very much simple in taste and not overpowering at all, so that you can still taste all the other elements of this dessert. Then, for the cream cheese we have gone for Philadelphia. I am sure you can pick any brand of cream cheese, as long as you make sure that it’s not too liquid-y in a way. You need a firm cream cheese which will work as a glue in the crushed cookies. We have also kept it very basic and no added any flavouring here, but I would say you should be able to add whatever makes you happy, really. Vanilla, peppermint, lemon…you name it, you’ll probably be able to make it work pretty easily.
Now, the piece de resistance, the white chocolate. We have used high quality white chocolate because, differently from its counterpart of milk or dark, white chocolate is honestly a difficult one to work with. Melting white chocolate is a job that needs to be very much done by an extremely careful person. It takes a second for everything to be messed up when you are melting white chocolate, given the absence of cocoa solids in it. And at last, the sprinkles. But we can chat about those in a minute.
How do you make the no-bake Christmas truffles?
These no-bake Christmas cookie truffles are so easy to make, you’ll probably do them over and over again. All you have to do is blitz the cookies in your food processor, then add the cream cheese and combine. You will roll the cookie and cream cheese mix in the shape of your choice, which in this case is round balls, and place them on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. These no-bake truffles will rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or even better overnight. You might even decide to freeze them, but I would not recommend doing this unless you can work with your white chocolate fast enough.
You will be melting the white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl, and the choice of chocolate can be a chocolate bar or chocolate chips. The world (in this case chocolate world) is your oyster, as they say. You will dip the truffles in the melted chocolate and sprinkle them with the sprinkles of your choice. We have found some brilliant ones from Out Of The Box Sprinkles (PME) though Amazon. They are absolutely adorable and they also have plenty more themes available that I definitely want to get!
Can I substitute anything?
It goes without saying here, but you’ll pretty much be able to substitute every single ingredient in this recipe! The no-bake Christmas cookie truffles are very much versatile from A to Z. And you will also be able to veganise them, which is always a plus! First of all, the cookies: you can use any cookie you can think of, a vegan one or a non-vegan one. When it comes to the cream cheese, go for the brand you prefer or have widely available where you live. If you are going to attempt these vegan, then pick your vegan cream cheese of choice!
When it comes to the chocolate, these will work extremely well with white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate alike. The dark chocolate version might also be the most satisfying and, once again, pick your vegan chocolate and have these no-bake Christmas cookie truffles with a twist!
For the sprinkles, you might decide to use something completely different altogether, or nothing at all. You can also end up decorating them with any left over melted chocolate you might have on hand, or even some extra cookie crumbs. The choices, once again, are endless when it comes to these Christmas truffles!
So let’s get rolling, right?

The smiles these no-bake Christmas cookie truffles have given us were unforgivable. They are adorable, the perfect size for a pick-me-up treat and just taste so good. I must admit I am not good with sprinkles, and I have picked them all off and handed them over to Fred. When I eventually actually had a taste of one, these were not too bad! I hate when sprinkles taste of chemicals (usually down to the colouring!) but these were actually sweet and added a level of crunch I did not expect.

Oh wow. Even though these are no bake, I still expected the prep work to be a lot of work but no, these seem really easy! So easy in fact that I think I’ll give this recipe a go with my 4 year old over the next few weeks! We have some leftover cream cheese in the fridge that we didn’t know what to do with which is even better. Can’t wait to give this a try. 🙂
Oh no, everything we make tends to be a simple and fast recipe! Hope you and your 4 year old are going to enjoy making (and eating!) these x
