Christmas Pudding Chocolate Biscuits
How is it the end of November almost?! I know the concept of time and understand it fully, but somehow this year has flown by. So to my surprise, rather than stop and think about this year and all that happened, I baked. I baked the best Christmas Pudding chocolate biscuits you’ll ever taste. Because these biscuits have had me rethink the whole ‘I don’t like chocolate’ thing. They are extremely delicious, extremely cute to look at and oh so simple to make. So if you are up for an easy bake this Christmas, these are the ones.
I don’t know, I feel like this whole year has happened in a week. It just went so fast and I couldn’t begin to think that in 35 days or so it’s the big day. By big day, of course, I mean Christmas. So to put a little pressure on you and your Christmas plans, I have decided to share this recipe for the Christmas Pudding chocolate biscuits I could eat all day, every day. Because pressure doesn’t mean ungratefulness. Oh no. It means you’ll be probably eating double the Christmas Pudding chocolate biscuits you normally would on a good, relaxing day. Trust me, been there and done that!
QUICK Christmas Pudding Chocolate Biscuits

Why are these called Christmas Pudding chocolate biscuits?
I know what you are thinking unless there is Christmas pudding in these chocolate biscuits, why are they called that? Well, because they look like Christmas puddings! They are round, they have white icing and holly. So we got all the basics covered, you know? Plus how can you say no to food that looks absolutely cute? I don’t know about you, but I can’t resist it.
Do they taste like Christmas Pudding?
These chocolate Christmas Pudding biscuits do not taste like Christmas pudding. So, if by any chance, you do not like Christmas pudding, you are indeed safe to make and have these. We have made them look like pudding in shape and decoration, but most definitely not in taste. And while I had strongly considered adding some spices to remind you of it, I ended up avoiding it. This is the kind of cookie you want to have with a big smile on your face, but not necessarily because of the taste it reminds you of.
What ingredients do I need to make these Christmas Pudding chocolate biscuits?
First off, the ingredients for these biscuits are simple and are probably all available in your pantry already. Especially if you bake quite consistently as we do. You will need unsalted butter, light brown sugar and one egg yolk. Then you will need some vanilla extract, salt, plain flour and cocoa powder. Cocoa powder is the one ingredient I say you need to have of great quality. No hot chocolate powder full of sugar, no Nesquik – best quality cocoa powder is the way.
Then you will need some white chocolate to melt to decorate and Christmas-themed sprinkles. Our favourite ones are linked below! But do feel free to use your favourites, or none at all – they are so tasty with no need for decoration if you fancy making these during the year too.
How do I make these biscuits?
You will start by creaming the butter and sugar until fluffy and light using a standing mixer or hand mixer.
Once that is all done, you can add the egg, vanilla and salt. Make sure they get mixed in properly and scrape down the bowl to help. Now it’s time to sift in the flour and cocoa powder and combine them until fully mixed.
Move the dough onto some plastic wrap and roll it into a 3.5 cm log. Wrap it with the cling film and let it rest in the fridge overnight. Now this is not mandatory, but it helps them keep their roundish shape when baking.
The next day, when you are ready to bake, turn on the oven to 160°C and let it warm up. Prepare a baking sheet with some parchment paper, then slice the biscuit log into 1cm thick slices and place them on the baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, then let it cool down completely.
Once the chocolate biscuits are fully cooled, melt the white chocolate and, using a teaspoon, decorate the top of each biscuit, then place the sprinkles. We tried to aim for a good drip and perfection, of course, but you can also use a piping back if you feel more confident. Let the white chocolate solidify completely before serving or storing, of course.

I’ve never had Christmas puddings before, but it feels like I’m missing out. And although you said they aren’t really puddings, but look like it. I take your word on that but still would love to try some puddings, haha. However, this recipe makes me want to give them a go. Although this christmas I’ll be celebrating it somewhere else, I can still see if I can try it. Thanks for sharing this lovely recipe.
Thank you Benny!
When I saw the name pudding, I was expecting a soft cookie, at least from the picture, and chocolate pudding to be an ingredient. I like the huge size of each cookie and they look delicious.
Thank you Kevin!
I love the look of these Christmas pudding chocolate biscuits! The photography is stunning! x
