Brioche hot  cross buns

Hot cross buns are a type of sweet, spiced bun that is marked with a cross on the top.  They are typically made with currants or raisins and are associated with certain holiday like Good Friday.

 instant dry yeast, caster sugar, full-fat milk, white flour, cinnamon, all spice, salt, cranberries, sultana, apple, orange, unsalted butter, egg

How to make them

Start the dough by mixing the ingredients in a standing mixer.  Let it rise to double the size & deflate.

Shape them into bowls and let them rise again. When ready, create crosses on them and bake until golden brown.  Enjoy toasted with butter and jam or by themselves!
