Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean surface.
If it’s pre-cut into triangles, great! If not, slice it into 8 equal triangles to form the classic croissant shape.
Starting from the wider base of each triangle, gently roll the dough toward the tip to create that classic croissant shape.
Place the croissants seam-side down so they hold their shape while baking.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water.
Use a pastry brush to lightly coat the tops of each croissant with the egg wash.
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C for a couple of minutes.
Place the croissants in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between them.
Air fry for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and fluffy.
Once golden brown and flaky, remove the croissants from the air fryer.
While they’re still warm, sprinkle a little caster sugar over the top for a touch of sweetness.
Let them cool slightly before serving (if you can wait that long).
Enjoy them as is, with jam, or get fancy and drizzle with melted chocolate for extra indulgence.
