Halloween Margarita Recipe
This spooky Halloween margarita is just as delicious as your traditional favourite recipe, with the addition of black simple syrup and a black salt rim on each glass. Classy, strong - just as we like it! - and scary all at the same time!
Ingredients
- 3 oz Tequila
- 2 oz Triple Sec
- 1.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 0.75 oz black simple syrup
- lime wedges
- ice
- salt
- black food colouring
Instructions
- Start by rimming your margarita glass with black sugar, using a lime wedge to wet the rim first. The contrast between the dark sugar and the black margarita is eerie and beautiful;
- Fill your cocktail shaker with ice cubes, adding the tequila, triple sec and freshly squeezed lime juice;
- Now, here comes the magic. Pour your homemade black simple syrup into the shaker.
- Seal the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. You want to make sure everything is well mixed, and you've got that chilling black hue.
- Pour the contents of the shaker into your rimmed margarita glass.
Notes
- For the black salt rim, just mix 2 tablespoons of fine salt with a drop or two of black food colouring and mix with your hands.
- You can use more or less black sugar syrup as you might prefer.
