Strawberry simple syrup
- ⅔ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- ¾ cup sliced strawberries
Strawberry milk tea
- ¼ cup strawberry syrup
- 2 green tea bags
- ⅔ cup water
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 cup ice
- ¼ cup black tapioca pearls
Start by preparing your strawberry simple syrup. In a saucepan, over medium heat, bring to a boil the strawberries, sugar and water. Mash the strawberries with a fork and keep them on the stove for 4-5 minutes. When ready, strain the syrup and pour it into an airtight container.
Cook your tapioca pearls following the instructions on the packet.
In the meantime, steep two green tea bags in 2/3 of a cup of water for three minutes. When you are done, discard the bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
In a tall glass, add the cooked tapioca pearls, the ice and the cooled tea. After that, add the syrup and the milk on top.
Place a wide straw in your glass and use any fresh strawberries for garnish. Mix your drink and enjoy this refreshing strawberry milk tea!
- You can keep the strawberry simple syrup for up to two weeks in an airtight container in the fridge. It's perfect for cocktails and yoghurt.
- Depending on the size of your glass, you might need to add more or keep the same amount of milk.
