10 Minutes Easter Candy Charcuterie Board
This post for the 10 minutes Easter Candy Charcuterie Board was first published on 16th March, 2023.
Easter has always been a time for Easter eggs, Easter candies and amazing Italian Easter cookies. We have never been that much of a religious family, but when it comes to holidays we still love to go the extra mile, at least when it comes to food. Fast forward to now and our love for food hasn’t changed, if anything, it’s grown! That’s why I was so excited to try my hand at doing an Easter candy charcuterie board!
I must admit that Simona and I went far overboard in buying candies and chocolates for it. We have leftover sweet treats for a fair while. Adding on top of what Fred brought from London, we are basically still eating and giving away to friends too. Although we are not great at measures, we love a good Easter candy or chocolate egg to snack on, who doesn’t right? So if you are short on ideas for some easy Easter board ideas, this easy Easter candy board is the one you need to make.
Just so you know, they won’t get wasted for sure and we also had a good excuse to have some old favourites. Who doesn’t love a good fried egg or chocolate bunnies? And even some chocolate covered eggs, of course.
And because Easter is always a different time of the year, but roughly around March & April, we do believe adding anything else that can have a spring feeling to it might be the best idea. Make it rain with flowers and ice creams and anything in between.

But let’s get back to our main Easter dessert. Because I hear you, you have seen charcuterie boards, cheese boards, dessert boards and whatever else you can think about. But can you put candies on a charcuterie board?
Absolutely yes and honestly this was such a fun idea and I think that Simona and I enjoyed it probably far too much! I see more easy charcuterie boards coming in the future, so keep an eye open! Building it was fun, but getting all the candies and chocolates collected was even better! Of all the Easter charcuterie board talk we’ve been doing, this one includes our favorite Easter candy so it has to be the winner.
How to make an Easter candy charcuterie board?
It’s quite easy and fun to actually make a candy charcuterie board! If you look online, you will be able to find so many charcuterie board ideas and dessert charcuterie board ideas for years to come. Even if it’s easy, though, you can take a charcuterie board two ways. Like when writing a book, you can either plan everything ahead or just for it at the moment. Even if planning will get you a step ahead as you know your result in advance, no one is judging here! We went the middle way and totally love how this Easter charcuterie board came out!
So planning this recipe – if you can call it a recipe like all other recipes! – is the first step. Then the fun part commences. Go shopping for your favourite Easter candies and chocolates, and make your heart happy, because, at the end of the day, it needs to be fun too!
Pick your board, anything can work really well here, especially if it has some sort of edge, so that no candies or chocolates are flying around. You don’t need anything really fancy unless you want to, it doesn’t even need to be a wooden board, it can be a nice tray that is colourful or something. Grab some small bowls and greenery and any Easter decorations you think could work. If you don’t have any greenery or decorations to add, fear not, because everything is already so colourful! We went with some of the paper mache eggs we made for our DIY Easter wreath that were extra, but you can make them in any way, shape or form.
Set the bowls in a ‘z’ shape if you have a rectangular charcuterie board. If round, you can still keep the same shape, the intent is to create movement already. After that add the biggest items you have, we put them in two corners, but can also add some in the middle to create height.
Afterwards, you can fill the small bowls and set to add the rest of your chocolate and candies to the board. If you don’t like how it’s coming up, the good thing about this is that we are not talking about a three-layered cake, so you can start anew or move around items.
What to use for an Easter candy charcuterie board?
These are all the candies and chocolate we used, but you can add whatever works best for you.
MINI CHOCOLATE EGGS
Starting our Easter candy charcuterie board with mini eggs. They come in so many flavours and colours that you have so many choices it’s overwhelming! You have Smarties mini eggs and peppermint mini eggs which were news to me!
CHOCOLATE EGGS
This is kind of the first thing that comes to mind when I think about Easter. And I am sure it’s the same for a lot of people. So we couldn’t miss a total star-like chocolate egg to add here. We went for some speckled eggs in the bowl to add even more colour. And then one of Simona’s favourites Reese’s peanut butter eggs, she could honestly have so many without going insane, but a little sugar high.
MARSHMALLOWS
I mean, I love homemade marshmallows, don’t get me wrong. But when you have mini-shaped marshmallows I can’t say no! I found plenty of them in Easter shapes which would make the perfect add-on to your Easter candy charcuterie board. One day I want to try Peeps, for sure, whether they are for an Easter candy charcuterie board or not.
EASTER LOLLIPOPS
We added some lollipops at the top of the Easter candy charcuterie board and I think they make a good add-on. You can also decide to use a glass jar and fill it with lollipops for added height, although we went for a flat lay this time.
JELLY BEANS
Another staple of I guess many childhoods, but not ours. We did not get to try Jelly Beans until way later, as they were not all the rage in Italy, so we discovered them along the line. Do I have to mention sour jelly beans to anyone? The flavour combos are now unbelievable, who would think about a jelly bean doughnut flavoured could be reality?
CANDIES & GUMMIES
Eggs and gummies make amazing fillers on your Easter candy charcuterie board. What is best about them? They come in plenty of colours and shapes, which will then add even movement and texture to your board. And the fact that they make them in so many shapes can help you make it, even more, Easter themed, so bring on the Easter candy charcuterie board that is themed and designed along those lines.
EASTER CHOCOLATE BUNNY
If not a chocolate bunny what else, right? This is such a staple and among the many, there’s the Lindt Golden Bunny that features in the candy board and which, with my traditional Kinder egg comes every Easter. I am a woman of traditions, I did say that at the beginning of this post, at least in food.
EASTER CHOCOLATE CHICKS, LAMBS & CARROTS
I used to love the chocolate carrots when I was a kid, they used to sell them at cafes here in Italy and it was always such a treat. Here is a selection of chicks and lambs to add to your Easter candy charcuterie board that will add even more colour and fun shapes!

What else can you add to your Easter candy charcuterie board?
- pastel M&M’S
- Smarties mini eggs
- Cadbury shimmer mini eggs
- M&S dippy egg mini whips
- sour belts candies
- Malteser’s bunnies
- Hershey’s kisses
- bunny peeps
- cookies and biscuits
- fresh fruit
When arranging your Easter candy charcuterie board, consider using a variety of textures, colours, and shapes to create an eye-catching display. You can use a large platter, cutting board, or even a decorative tray as the base for your board. Arrange the candies in clusters or rows, and consider adding small bowls or ramekins to hold loose candies or dips like chocolate or caramel sauce.
To balance out the sweetness of the candies, you can even add some savoury elements such as nuts, pretzels, popcorn, or cheese cubes. These can add variety to the board and provide a satisfying contrast to the sugary treats. We also already mentioned it, but serve small bowls of chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping candies such as marshmallows, strawberries, or pretzels. You can also include yogurt or cream cheese dips flavoured with vanilla or honey for dipping fruit.
What equipment will I need for this Easter candy board?
All you need is a board of any kind. We had a rectangular board, but you can also choose a round one or any other shape that you like. I even found some bunny-shaped ones which would look great too! However, if you don’t have one and don’t want to buy one, you could also use a serving plate or something along those lines. Also, you will need some small bowls, but pretty much you won’t need things you don’t already own.
If you are after some Easter decor to add to your board, make sure you and your guests can actually see they are decor and not candies or chocolates in disguise! It’s never a good idea to mix the two together, so if there are kids around it might not be the best idea. Unless the board is supervised, it can become a choking hazard.
Alas, an Easter candy charcuterie board is not only delicious but also fun to put together, making it a festive addition to any Easter celebration or gathering. All the candies and chocolates are sure to delight guests of all ages and add a touch of sweetness to your holiday festivities.
