Christmas Collection from 2020 – the edit
I guess you know it, especially if you have been on our Instagram, Christmas as a holiday is a big deal to us. Or at the very least to 2/3 of us. Fred is indeed a cheater, sadly. So it would have been almost impossible to launch our Christmas content without giving you the Christmas Collection from 2020. Not only recipes, of course, and if you were around here last year you know we had a great time working out our content. I think we did Blogmas without knowing what Blogmas actually was ha!
If you are new around here, though, this Christmas collection is a taste of what’s to come starting on Sunday. That’s when our first gift guide of 2021 comes out. While last year we were all responsible for everything, this year we have split it differently. First, because I hated writing gift guides. Or better, I enjoyed finding the products, not putting them together. So Cristina has kindly taken over that role, she is the queen of gift guides in 2021.
So it seems natural that I took over food – all the recipes are by either moi or Fred this year. And with Fred being extremely busy with uni, we have also got a couple of guest posts from some brilliant bloggers coming your way. I am so excited for you all to see what we have planned! I am still cooking up a storm of course, but nothing difficult – and always so yummy!
So if this Christmas, or Blogmas, is not shaping up to be a brilliant one, I don’t know what is. We are attempting to write every day in December up until the 24th. Which is definitely a challenge. But you know we love a good challenge, especially when it comes to testing our patience and resilience ha!

The Kitchen Gift Guide of 2020
We had a few gift guides, but this one was our first one ever. So how to go into a Christmas collection without reminiscing about our first ever? Of course, this was packed with all the things I want, or also all the things I love and enjoy. So make sure to check it out! Yes, some of the pieces here are $$$ and probably would break the bank. But tell me you do not want to own a coffee machine like that one, I dare you.
Reusable Gift Guide – Home Edition
You know we have started our journey through sustainability, and even last year we were already pretty focused. As part of our Christmas collection from 2020, it’s no doubt you’ll find sustainable alternatives. Not only in a gift guide, of course, but also for wrapping presents and setting the table. Some of the items in this wishlist are still very much something we use daily!
Christmas Collection: The Ultimate Coffee Gift Guide
You know we are coffee obsessed, so how could we not share this gift guide? Whether you are a coffee drinker or not, this was a big hit back then and I’m sure it would still be today. From brewing equipment to machines, Fred had the best list of items you need if you live and breath coffee (as she does). That set of sepia mugs and glasses is still one of my absolute favourites!
The Beauty Gift Guide of 2020
This one on beauty was of course from me. There is no beauty item from here I would not want to have. Especially that Dyson set (if anyone is feeling generous, you know where to find me!). As I have not been working for most of this past year, most of these items have become pretty much off-limits, but I am sure you can find comfort knowing this Christmas collection houses all of them in one spot. You know, for ease of reach when I am a millionaire one day.

Mince Pies
The little soft queens of Christmas. What kind of Christmas collection would this be without mince pies? I know – some people still think these are a weird combo. But in reality, they are just such a staple here in the UK that you absolutely need to try them. There are so many variants on toppings for these, make sure you try them all!
Christmas Wreath DIY
We have decided to go all-in last year, you can clearly see that. As made our own wreath to decorate the door to our flat! We picked a kit on Etsy and it was quite a fun afternoon activity! If you read this before, you know we have used the offcuts to decorate the house, the table and even the presents!

Duck à L’Orange – Christmas Collection Recipes
This one is straight from Fred’s archives. She is obsessed with duck, and this duck à l’orange is so yummy. Cristina and I never had duck before this, and we actually enjoyed it. Considering our aversion to anything that is not chicken or beef or pork… We call it a win! Easy, sweet and oh so yummy, needs to be in your Christmas collection too.
Christmas Iced Cookies
The sweat and tears that have gone into these Christmas cookies should make the top of every Christmas collection. But there is nothing we wouldn’t do all over again! They were tasty, absolutely adorable and did I mention cute yet?! While they are not the easiest to put together, we cannot deny they are too cute to eat. Or maybe not.
Scrumpy Spicy Eggnog Nicey
I have honestly drunk this all the time last year. And now that I am looking at it again, I know what I am making tomorrow! This was so lush, creamy and just perfect in taste. The spices and all remind me of Christmas more than anything else, so make sure to try this out as soon as you possibly can. It’s worth the calories, trust me.
The Best Christmas Movies You Need To Watch
You can’t have Christmas or a Christmas collection without a collection of Christmas movies! Do you see what I did there, uh? So many nice movies, so much time too! Last year we had a very nice Christmas dinner with our flatmates and spent the night watching a good movie. Sometimes it’s just the perfect way to unwind! Especially after the amount of food we usually consume on the holidays!
The Best Food Kits Gift Guide
Because you know how much I love to cook, these are the perfect gifts for someone like me! Making my own of anything counts for more than half the fun! From boba kits to make your own kombucha and gin, there is one present for everyone! Also, that kintsugi set is just to die for, completely worth the money there!
Rosemary Savoury Shortbread
Cristina made these last year and complained about how not so nice they looked. Fred and I thought they look adorable and don’t even let me start on the taste. Such a great simple recipe, one you absolutely need to have in your Christmas collection. Try it if you don’t believe me.
Reusable Gift Guide – On The Road Edition
That second gift guide on sustainable goods it’s also part of this Christmas collection. Cristina has a strong passion for sustainability and her selection here is just perfect. From tumblers to bottles, reusable cutlery and tiffin tins, she has found the most amazing items anyone could wish for!
Mini Christmas Pudding Bonbons – Christmas Collection Must Have
These are so quick to make, you will be screaming Christmas collection stat by the time you are done. They are so cute to look at and also very tasty! If your family is the type to hoard Christmas puddings like there is no tomorrow, this is the perfect recipe for you. A classic Nigella, reuse and reduce. Yummy.
A Christmassy Millionaire Shortbread
There is one thing Fred does well – and that is Millionaire Shortbread! This one is packed with hazelnuts and the most luscious caramel. We have eaten this within days from it being made, and we did not regret a single bite of it. Not that we ever regret food choices, you know.
Brussel Sprouts Wreath
Fred still refuses to eat Brussel Sprouts. But how can you really when you’re dipping them in baked Camembert?! Like, is there anything even better than this? I think not. Dipping each little brussel sprout into cheesy heaven must be one of my favourite Christmas activities.
The Ultimate Tea Gift Guide
Because not everyone drinks coffee, so Fred came up with quite an interesting tea gift guide! We do enjoy the odd cup of tea, so these bits here are some of our favourites anyway! Make sure you learn all about tea and the ceremony that comes with it.
A Festive Rooibos & Orange Sour
Cocktails are not our forte, but we try. Rooibos is also one of my favourite teas and this one is absolutely incredible in a cocktail! Vodka, tea and orange juice make a very mean sour indeed!

So last year was a tough year for everyone. And it was not helped by the whole work from home situation. While some of us still do work from home, some of these gifts here are top class either way. The Ember mug and the SAD light are still top of my wishlist!

I think this recipe is what brought Cristina to the brink of a nervous breakdown. Not because she hates meringue, but because attempting a pavlova all by yourself when cooking is not your forte is just a disaster waiting to happen. And I must admit the first attempt ended in the bin as soon as we were able to say WTF when taking the meringue out of the oven. We cannot stop laughing even now when we think about it. But look what a second attempt resulted in! It’s a majestic dessert, and it will be the envy of your aunties at the table.

The last cocktail for 2020 was brought to you by Fred. She is obsessed with blood orange and it was only normal that she would put it in a cocktail too. This year, we are planning something with blood oranges, but you will have to wait to see it.

And at last, we have the last recipe. The one that should be on everyone’s Christmas collection. It’s not really a recipe, to be fair, it’s more like tips on how to make the perfect leftover sandwich. The one you’ll be eating from the 26th December onwards. Because leftovers are good, and sometimes a simple sandwich can make all the difference!
And we are at the end of this Christmas collection of 2020! To say we are excited about the coming Christmas content is an understatement. We cannot wait to take out the Christmas decor and see the Christmas trees being decorated around the street we live in.
